Little Surfer Dude

On this last trip to Hawaii, Nico did not get sick so we finally got a chance to take him to the beach.  Accompanied with Grandma & Papa we went to Ko Olina (Lagoon 1).

We spread out our blanket & treasures from Tanioka's under the shade of a palm tree.  Then after a quick bite of some spam musubi, (one of Nico's new found fav's), and some chasing of birds, mom lead Nico to the shore.  He looked more contemplative than anything.

Do I like this?  Is it safe?  Why is it so bright here?  Um, is the water supposed to be cold?  Where's my rubber ducky?

Daddy carried Nico waist deep into the water & our little surfer dude still looked unsure.  Finally, Nico smiled as daddy spun him around in the ocean and his arm splashed out tiny tsunamis.  We only had one wipe out when mom & Nico sat at the wrong spot on the beach & the tide washed over us.  Yup, at that point was time to play in the sand.
